Belgium’s No.1 tennis player Elise Mertens partners with Beabond to launch the Mountain Gorilla Tag in support of Virunga National Park and their efforts around the critically endangered gorilla population. The world population of mountain gorillas is currently estimated to be around 1,000 individuals; Virunga is home to a third of those remaining. Virunga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is Africa’s most biologically diverse protected area that exists to protect over one thousand species of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians and provide a brighter future to more than four million people affected by conflict. The Rangers risk their lives daily to defend the park from poachers, militants and environmental factors. || Wildlife Photography by Cameron Anderson Raffan ||
